I have a theory that the doors leading from Cure Rose Garden to other worlds depend on the direction. Using the Rose Pact, I may be able to follow the string to whatever world the other person is in.
I think the community is taking a much more loose interpretation of the legend. People are simply being tied to those with whom they share a deep emotional bond. It doesn't have to be lovers, it can be a deep and enduring friendship, like the one I share with Souji-senpai.
The lack of strings just probably means you're not affected by the virus. I'm certain there's someone meant for you at the other end of your string, even if you can't see it...
It's not that hard. I gave out literally dozens of chocolates to my friends and coworkers. You just present the box and say "I made/bought these for you, please accept them."
